Who Does the Work
One Paver, From the Measure to the Last Joint
Prime Paving Canberra is run by Dominic Deegan. When you get in touch, you deal with Dominic, the person who will do the job: he comes out, measures the area, talks through the pavers and the laying method with you, and prepares the quote.
On the day, that same person digs out, builds the base, lays the pavers and finishes the edges and joints. If something on site needs a decision, the person who made the plan is there to make it.

Done to the Australian Standard
Paving built on a properly prepared base, to the Australian standard, should give a good result for twenty to thirty years.
Driveways Built for Cars
Clay paver driveways sit on at least 100 mm of road base and about 50 mm of bedding sand, compacted in layers no thicker than 75 mm.
Edges and Joints Locked In
A header course locks the pattern in, a mortar haunch, a strip of mortar along the outside edge, holds the edges, and polymeric sand is swept into the joints.
What We Lay
Clay, Travertine and Porcelain
The paver you choose decides how it is laid. Budget, the style of paver and where it is going all come into it.
Travertine
Natural stone laid in mortar, either on a concrete slab or on 100 mm of compacted road base. Common around pools.
Porcelain
Outdoor porcelain, the same thing as outdoor tiles or rigid paving, laid in mortar on a slab or on compacted road base.
