What We Lay

Choose From Six Paving Services

Prime Paving Canberra lays paving for homes across Canberra, Yass, Goulburn, Braidwood and Cooma. It is a one-person business, so the person who measures your job is the person who lays it.

Each service has its own page with the materials, the laying method and what affects the quote.

Which Paver for Which Job

Clay pavers are dry laid on road base and bedding sand. Travertine and porcelain are wet laid, set in mortar.

Not sure which suits your home? Mention the look you like when you enquire and the options can be talked through at the measure.

Planning More Than One Area

One Enquiry for the Whole Yard

Many jobs cover more than one area, such as a driveway, the path beside the house and a patio out the back.

    One Measure

The areas can be measured in one visit and priced together, with removal of old concrete, paving or turf in the quote.

    Match or Change the Paver

Pavers can match from one area to the next, or change on purpose at a step or a gate, for example clay at the front and travertine out the back.

Questions About Our Paving Services

Is Outdoor Tiling Different From Paving?

Outdoor tiles are laid the same way as rigid paving: porcelain or travertine set in mortar, either on a concrete slab or, for suitable products, on 100 mm of compacted road base. The Outdoor Tiling page covers the tiles themselves; the Pool and Entertaining Area pages cover the areas they go in.

Which Page Covers Outdoor Steps?

Paved steps in clay, travertine or porcelain are on the Paths, Steps and Courtyards page. Tiled steps at a front entry or alfresco are also covered on the Outdoor Tiling page.

Can One Quote Cover a Driveway and a Back Patio?

Yes. Put every area in one enquiry and they can be measured in one visit and quoted together.

Do You Only Lay New Paving?

No. Pavers that have sunk, lifted or come loose can be lifted and relaid on a repaired base, and the same pavers go back down where they are still sound. That is covered on the Paving Repairs page.
